Yarn Count Definition and Types

What is yarn numbering or count system?

Ans:- The yarn count is a numerical expression which defines its fineness or coarseness. It also expresses weather the yarn is thick or thin.

How many type of yarn numbering or count system?

Ans:- Basically yarn numbering or count system is a “Two” types
              1)  Direct system

              1)  Indirect system

Types Of Yarn Numbering System Or Yarn Count:-

1)      1. Direct System

Generally used Direct yarn system is two to four types of terms:-

1.1.1.  Tex

1.1.2.  Denier

1.1.3.  Decitex

1.1.4.  Militex

2) 2.   Indirect System

Generally used Indirect yarn system is two to three types of terms:-

1.1.1. English Conut

1.1.2. Metric Count

1.1.3. Worsted Count

1.       What is Direct Yarn System?

Ans:- This System of yarn numbering based on mass per unit of length.

i.e. we measure weight of a fixed length of yarn.

Direct Sys এ আমরা নির্দিষ্ট Length এর সুতা নেই সেই Length এ যা Weight আসে সেটাই সুতার Count. Length সর্বদাই Fixed থাকে কিন্তু Weight Variation হয়ে থাকে।

2.       What is Indirect Yarn system?

Ans:- This system of yarn numbering based on length per unit of mass.

i.e. We measure length of a fixed weight of yarn.

Indirect Sys এ আমরা নির্দিষ্ট Weight এর সুতা নেই সেই Weight এর সুতায় যা Length থাকে সেটাই সুতার Count. Indirect yarn System এ সর্বদাই সুতার Weight এক থাকে কিন্তু সুতার Length variation হয়ে থাকে।

What is Different of Direct & Indirect yarn system:-

1)      Direct System

Direct system এ count যত বেশী হবে সুতা তত মোটা হবে, আর count যত কম হবে সুতা তত চিকণ হবে।

For Example:- 10 Tex Is Thin

                        100 Tex is Thick

আমরা মনে করি 1000mtr Length এর মধ্যে প্রথমে ১০গ্রাম yarn নিলাম, তার পরে 1000mtr Length এর মধ্যে ১০০গ্রাম yarn নিলাম। তাহলে আমাদের ১০গ্রাম/১০০০ এর থেকে ১০০গ্রাম/১০০০ এর সুতা মোটা বেশী হবে।

 

2)      Indirect System

Indirect system এ count যত বেশী হবে সুতা তত চিকণ হবে, আর count যত কম হবে সুতা তত মোটা হবে।

For Example:- 10Ne Is Thick

                        100 Ne Is Thin

আমরা মনে করি 1pound yarn প্রথমে যদি 10hank হয়, তার পরে যদি 1pound এ 100hank হয়। তাহলে আমাদের ১/১০ এর থেকে ১/১০০ এর সুতা চিকণ বেশী হবে।
